What are some extremely unique names for babies/children?

I am creative, and I love to think about very unusual names for kids. I don't like mundane names. No offense to anyone with a regular name, of course!

I guess that I was destined to have this preference, because I myself have an unusual name. Think about Wesley Snipes as a vampire killer. :)

Here are some very unusual names I have thought of:

For a dude:

1. Grave

2. Anubis

3. Shade

4. Night (not so original...since there is that M. Night film dude)- maybe "Knight" in its stead.

For a girl:

1. Wilderness

2. Winter

3. Shadow

4. Solace (spelled Solis, perhaps)

And some others, too.

Can you conjure any?

What are some extremely unique names for babies/children?
I understand what you're trying to do, but you should adjust a bit, the actual word, so you're not just using an exact word for a person like:

GRAVE could be GRAVEN (I'd choose neither, bad image!)

But if you must, then spell it as GRAAVE or GRAVENNE

ANUBIS (already a name form, so that's ok)

SHADE could be SHADEN or SHAYDE

NIGHT should be in the form of KNIGHT (forget the other guy)

WILDERNESS could be WILDERNESSA or WINDERNESSE

WINTER is ok but could be WINTERRE as well! I like SUMMER better though!

SHADOW could be SHADDO

And SOLACE, are you thinking of SOLSTICE? Well, I do like your name of SOLIS or SOLISA!

I also like these concoctions:

SAHARA BREEZE

SUMMER RAINE

AUTUMNE BREEZE

WINDE or WINDEE BREEZE

SOLEIL or SUNNEE DAI

SKYE LUNA

VENUS STARR

MARS SATURNE

SATURNA LUNA

AMAZEA OCEANA or AMAZEN OCEANUS

AQUA OCEANA or AGUA OCEANUS

ZEN BREEZE

OCEANE WINDE

SUMMER RAINE

MISTEE RAINE

SNOWEE WINTERRE

Good luck and that was fun!

IMO, Grave, Shadow and Wilderness sound better as dog/cat names. And, Shade is more of a girl's name.

Reply:I too like unique names, but personally I like a less "bold" form of unique names

For a girl [More your taste than mine]:

Eva, Elliana, Lillerie, Sammalina, or Melody.

For a boy [Again, more of your taste]:

Doxin, Clarkad, York, Gage.

Hope this helps =]

When my husband and i were thinking of names for our son when i was pregnant, we actually found "Zero" in a baby name book. How about that- My husband suggested we go with "Zero Loser" .....hahaha.

Seriously, Winter and Solace are awesome, but don't spell it Solis- that looks like Solar or something.

Grave is a little too creepy- I don't think the kid would appreciate that one.

Reply:Well, I know a girl named winter, and one named snow.

My name is Cheree, and everywhere I go, I'm the only Cheree there.

I've always liked the name Terica. ( pronounce Tear- ri-kah) Like Erica but with a T in front. No one else has the name, I kinda made it up, and it sounds pretty.

Trust me, if you have a girl, they will want their name to sound pretty. Keep that in mind.
