What do you think of the babies' names on TLC's Quint - essentials?

I was watching this show on TLC, and the parents gave these names to their quintuplet children:

Irelyn Kadyn (girl)

Landyn Konner (boy)

Layne Mykel (boy)

Kieran Skye (girl)

Drayden Karter (boy)

I'll admit it... I'm not going to name any of my children any of these names (except Kieran... for a boy). My husband had this to say:

"It looks like when a school kid doesn't know how to spell a name... like, they don't know Michael has a "ch" so they spell it with a K."

Just wondering what the Yahoo crowd has to say... If you have no idea what I'm talking about, the family has a website: http://www.ferrillfive.com

I agree with your hubby. The spellings are atrocious and come out looking uneducated. Usuing "K" and "Y" instead of "C" and "I,E" is ultra trendy when it's not the original spelling.

It's ashame because Landon Connor and Lane Michael would have been awesome!

Keiran is ALL boy to me!

This sibset really infuriates me now that I think about it . :(
Reply:i love the names! my fav is Landyn and Drayden but i wouldn't spell it like that!
Reply:Oh wow...I missed this one...Out of all the names in the world they chose these 5....wow....

I cannot stand Carter and Connor spelled with a K. I don't like Layne for a boy and are they going to call Drayden Drady because that is awful and I love Brady...

The flow is all off and they are awkward to say as a group...They just don't go together...

SD
Reply:the only name i LOVE out of these is KIERAN and i wouldlove to use this for a girl if i ever had another one...but alot of people have told me that it is a boys name so idunno anddon't care i love it! th others are very strange
Reply:I would like them better if they didn't look like a kindergartener spelled them out.

I love Connor and Micheal, but that's really it. I prefer Ireland to Irelyn, Kiera to Kieran, and Carter to Karter, but doubt I'd ever name a kid any of them. And I once worked with a GIRL by the name of Layne, so there's nothing masculine about that one at all, to me.
Reply:I worked in a pharmacy for 4 years and have been teaching at a nature center for 2 1/2. I meet 16,000 or so kids per year. Atleast these names aren't as bad as some out there..... I have had the pleasure of meeting a 'Lil Tizzy (her moms name was Tizzy) a YourHighness, a Chlamydia (pronounced Klah-meh-dee-ah but still its a std!), a plethora of Princesses and Porshe's, twins named Lemonjello and Orangejello, and a poor boy named Shithead (Shy-Thead is how it was pronounced). It makes me happy my parents were bland and named me Kari.
Reply:I thought they were weird too. The only name I even like out of any of them is Skye.
Reply:no one else will probably agree with me but i think the names are beautiful. Irelyn Kadyn is my favorite though. I work in a public job too and you would really wonder what people are sometimes thinking when they name their kids some things, though i have never seen a shithead. i am getting so used to typing in kids names with odd spelling that doesn't even faze me anymore, hardly anyone names their child Michael anymore its aways mykkel or Micheal is now pronounced Michelle.
Reply:I dont like names that are spelled different than they really should be.

Landon connor for instance.
Reply:I watched that show, thought the names were a little weird and if it were me I would either have all the names have something in common or none at all...for instance there are 2 babies whose names start with "L" but none of the others and 3 middle names that start with "K". If it were me they wouldn't be like that....

Plus Karter and Konner sound too much alike and when the baby named Drayden grows up he will probably be called Brayden because they sound so similar and Brayden is more popular and known.
Reply:Lots of people are spelling things like that to make the name more "unique..." in my opinion, it's done so frequently, though, that it's not an exception anymore and it just makes the name look really dated.
Reply:Way too blackish and hard to pronounce. They look funny and misspell.
