Why do people choose stupid names for their babies these days?

Why can't they use normal names or at least something the kid can live with...some of the names today are outright dumb!!!

I agree, it's either a well known name or something weird that you can't even pronounce, forget the spelling, and they forget you have to live with that name
Reply:Yeah. I agree. A woman had twin boys and named them Benson %26amp; Hedges. I guess they are actually just attention seekers who want people to think they are cool and original by giving their kids outrageous names. Personally, I think it's stupid.

Reply:i agree but i guess originality. With the population growing, all names are becoming more common... Even dogs' names are becoming too common. I have about 8 friends called Max!

Reply:Cos all the good names are taken. Also its not so much original names but the combination of given and surname, ie Wayne ------ Kerr
