how coincedental I was afraid while making this list that I had too many B names but it seems that you already have kids with those names, but to even it out I would definitely go with the name Henry, unless if that is already the H's name. Then in that case how about Houston?

Reply:Can anyone forsee a shift back to classical Greco-Roman names?
This came to my mind because we'll likely have more public recognition of the space program with maybe a mission to Mars and other stuff.
There are some recently-adopted names like Phoenix, Dakota, etc that correspond to places, and with more attention directed to the sky this trend could continue to the planets.
Reply:I think that the names will get even crazier. New fruits will be used rather than Apples and Peaches. Veges might make an appearance and Carrot Carlton will be the boy next door.
No one has thought of using numbers for names such as Eighty-Eight. Sounds like ADHD to me but that won't put some people off. The name is unique, right?

Reply:For girls, continuing with the trend of giving boys' names to girls... Matthew, Peter, James, Ronald, Charles, etcetera.
For boys, there will only be one name now acceptable, for the sheer manliness associated with plumbers and six packs... JOE.

This came to my mind because we'll likely have more public recognition of the space program with maybe a mission to Mars and other stuff.

What are the WORST baby names that start with the letter A?
Please no curse words or stupid stuff, but actual names you've heard people use for either a boy or a girl that make you wonder what the parents were thinking when they used the name.

How much do you care what others think of your chosen baby names?
On a scale of 1-10, 1 being not bothered at all.
I think its such a personal thing that you'll never pick names that everyone likes. I think as long as you like the name and its not something thats going to get the child picked on then thats the most important thing?
How much do you care what others think of your chosen baby names?
You can't please everyone, so why bother trying?
Reply:1 - I'm more bothered by what the child is going to think of their name.
I wouldnt want to name my child the same name of a friend or their child, as it has always bugged me when I knew someone with the same name as me. Plus like you said, it has to be name the child wouldnt get picked on about as a child or teenager.
Reply:Well, I don't usually care at all. My husband and I picked them for a reason, the names aren't ones that will get them picked on and I like them. The only issue I have is when the mother-in-law constantly criticises them, and then the husband starts to doubt it. That, is flipping annoying.
Reply:Maybe 4 or 5. I wouldn't want everyone to think I'd picked really nasty names, but I'm not all that bothered really.
I set out intending to avoid overdone names, but ended up with Isabella and Holly, both high up on the top names list of the last few years. Honestly, they suit my girls and I like them. I don't care if there's a few of them around, I'd rather that than one with say a 'unique' spelling or unpronouncable name - they simply spell CHAV to me. Sorry....
Reply:1 - Couldn't care less. My daughters name is Izabela and her middle names are Autumn Rose. We had a lot of stick off family members for spelling Izabela the way we spelt it and also for choosing Autumn as her middle names. Shes our daughter, we pick the names we like!!
Reply:9!! because if your friends think their names are silly, then your kid's friends are going to think so too!!!!!
If you called your kid "Jammy Dodger Biscuit", no matter how beautiful you think their name is, they'll still get bullied in the playground. big time!
so yes, it does matter generally how other people react to your child's name, but i wouldn't say 10, because as you say, no one's ever going to agree with you 100%.
Reply:3 or 4, I like to hear others feedback on names because I love so many. I think it is so arrogant though when people say name your kid something else or hate it, hate is such a strong word. As you said everyone has a personal opinion and not everyone will like the names you chose
Reply:1. I picked the name I want for my child, no one else has any say or thought in it. I picked her name for special reasons to me. It's a beautiful name, not one that is common or not common enough, but I can't find her middle name in a book anywhere. So I picked a good one.
Reply:I really dont care what other people think My oldest son who is just turned 3 in december has 21 letters in his first name and people always comment but i dont care it has alot of meaning and could not careless some people just need to make an effort to say names right

i don't usually care at all exept once when i asked peoples opinions on a baby girls name and no one liked it, the only reason i liked it was because it was one of my friends names so obviously when i think of the name i think of a nice person so it's a 2 (:
Reply:i never take in a consideration what others will think about me and my actions. but i dont waanna my baby to suffer coz of me choosing a name when someone can pick on him, so i think it s better to choose the name acceptable in audience
Reply:I'm 16 so I don't have any kids!
But when I hopefully do have kids I think I will want other people's opinions to some extent but at the end of the day it is mine and my partner's decision!
So I'd say I'll probably be a 4!

meaning there
Grace - means 'good will'

When I think of elegant, I think of Victorian. Why don't you research some names from the early 1900s? Samantha, Charlotte, Natalya, Victoria, Ava, Madeleine, Jacqueline, and Evelyn are all very elegant to me.

Ava Sophia
Evelyn Richelle
Natalya Lisette

Some people like a pattern of several syllables in the first name and fewer in the second. You may or may not like how that rolls off your tongue.
If you are asking for yourself, congratulations!

What do you think about tattooing your babies name on you?
I only have one tattoo and it is very small. I was thinking of getting another one and I wanted it to have something to do with my daughter. I want it to be small also. Do you have any ideas? Personal experiences please about your own tattoos. Thanks in advance.
What do you think about tattooing your babies name on you?
I just got a tattoo on my foot last night for my 2 boys- it is the Mothers Love Heart charm from James Avery. The larger side is for my oldest and the smaller side is for my baby boy. I got it in blue because they are boys and also because my middle name is Bleu. Anyway the crazy thing is my Mom got it too, she said her love for them was worth a reminder of it for the rest of her life. It was a great experience- when we came home we told my four year old all about it and he said "aw so cute and I love you to Nana". I say do what you want, its your life to live!

Reply:I have my sons name tattooed above a pooh bear (he picked it out when he was 2) and I am going to either have my daughters hand or footprint put on me somewhere with her name on it as well. I lost a baby and have the word Angel encircled by roses over my heart.
Reply:My husband has a tattoo of penguins on his back, a big one and a little one, because my three year old looooves penguins. She knows it's her and her daddy, and she loves it.
Reply:i have two hearts on my left upper arm w/ like a banner going through the hearts w/ my kids names Natalie and Nathan
Reply:I think it's very cute! Your own child's name on your body is cute and not tacky as say getting your spouse's name on your body because your child will always be yours! I want to get my son's name on either my back or my wrist, but I'm not sure yet. My son's name or not, a tattoo is permanent and I like to be sure before I make decisions like that. I will give you a link to the tattoo I *WANT* to get on my wrist of my son's name. (I drew it on with a pen to see if I could actually get used to having a tattoo on my wrist for the rest of my life...of course I'd have a tattoo artist touch it up and make it look a little nicer)
Reply:I think its sweet. I waited for my kids to get a bit older and I am going to get something specific that each of them likes. My middle daughter I am getting a ballet slipper for, my oldest will be either an angel or angel wings or something, and i am not quite sure for my youngest yet, she is only 3...they wont have their names, but a unique symbol that is meaningful to us.
Reply:Many parents tattoo their child(ren)'s name on them... they will always be your child(ren) so it's a nice thing to do. Unlike putting a b/f or g/f name on you... they aren't permanent... lol. I hope it comes out beautiful for you!
Reply:I'm currently pregnant, and i plan on tattooing my childs name on me.
It's not the same as a relationship's name.
because youre child will always be your child, no matter what happens.

Reply:I know you asked for personal experiences, but this is a wonderful idea:
When his kids were old enough, Tommy Lee had them write out their own name and then had it tattooed on his fore arm, still in their own hand writing. My husband plans to do this when our kids are older.

What were some popular/commonly used Scottish Baby Names in the 1920s?
Writing a story and have a few - Elspeth for sure, and toying with Duncan and Kenneth for boys - but I've been searching for popular names in the 1920s or 1930s for children and haven't been able to find anything.
Almost everything that comes up is for England/Wales or the US, and I know from current baby name lists the names tend to differ drastically. Any suggestions?
What were some popular/commonly used Scottish Baby Names in the 1920s?
Wow! This was really hard to find. It seems like all the baby name sites only list the most popular Scottish names from 2000 on.
Okay, so here's a list of the 100 most common Scottish first names from 1900:
http://www.gro-scotland.gov.uk/files1/st...
Here's a list from 1950:
http://www.gro-scotland.gov.uk/files1/st...
Compare both lists -- if a name appears on both, it's pretty safe to say it was popular in the 1920's. These lists are from the General Registrar Office for Scotland, so they're very official.
Good luck with your story, and I hope this helps!
Reply:Scottish people back then also used the same names that were popular in England. Biblical names like Thomas, John, Paul, James, Andrew, Elizabeth, Mary, Ruth etc have always been very popular. Don't go looking for obviously Scottish names or your story will end up sounding like a Disney version of Brigadoon. Think traditional names and you won't go far wrong.
Reply:From the names I found on the above answerer's website, my favorites were:
Elsie
Maggie
Benjamin
Betsy
Joan
I don't think it matters as much what the very most realistic name is from statistics and stuff; the names above sound most realistic for both the time period and region, even though some of them were only around #60.

I think it's a great idea to get a tattoo with your daughter's name on it.
What my sister, and cousin did, was got a butterfly with their kids' name on the middle of the butterfly.. like where the caterpillar part used to be. if that makes sense. I think For the colors what they did was the child's favorite color and their birthstone color. Turned out really good.
Reply:Find a design that stands out to you, talk to an artist and really put thought into it. Getting your daughters name in a nice script would be simple if that's what you want and in the end it is your choice. I would talk to an artist about placement and design and what works in a small size. Good luck!
Reply:If she's old enough to qrite have her write her name out and you can get that tattooed like Tommy Lee did. or you could get her baby feet or hand prints.
Reply:I wouldn't
Reply:THATS REALLY CUTE IF I WAS YOU I WOULD CUZ THATS YOUR KID
Reply:I have my god-son's initials and bday on my right arm.
Here is a pic of it right after it was done!I had the artist run all the numbers together so its not easy to understand what it is a first glance. 111705PLH people ask me all of the time what it means and I get to tell them about my amazing god-baby!
http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j192/o...
Reply:thats a good choice or if shes still a baby you can get her foot print tattooed on you. Or have her zodiac sign You could also do a portrait of her face but I think thats a little creepy
Reply:Not a Good idea!

Here is a pic of it right after it was done!I had the artist run all the numbers together so its not easy to understand what it is a first glance. 111705PLH people ask me all of the time what it means and I get to tell them about my amazing god-baby!

What is a good site to find baby names and meanings?
A few of my coworkers are planning on having kids soon, and want to know if there are any good sites to find baby names, because they haven't found a decent baby name book. They just want some ideas, that's all. Or if you have any personal suggestions (first names along with a middle name that sounds good) that would be so awesome!!! Thanks!

I would like any ideas for baby names of jamaican / white british babies. Thank you very much?
Sweet and warm names for a little girl, like Honey and Jasmine.
For a little boy, proud and strong names, Christopher, Joshua, Jacob.
I'm sure when your baby is born you will just know - Good luck!
Ps. I always wanted a little girl (but never had one) - I would have called her Heather or Heidi. Just a mention, as they are sweet names also.
