Reply:Arian is a Welsh word meaning money or silver. Never heard of it being used as a name before,





I'm not sure I like any of the others except possibly Ruth, Felicity Christopher, Phillip and Nathan. I love all the classics. They don't date and serve a child well throughout their lives.





I don't really like names like "Josh" and "Ruby". Way over used these days. . . .

I would stay away from the name "Arian." The Aryan Nation (different spelling, but pronounced the same) is a white supremacist group that is hateful and intolerant to all other races. I would stay far away from any association with that name.





As far as the girls... Lauren, classy, classic.... always has been a favorite of mine.

As for your girl names, I think Phoebe and Cherry sound like strippers. Don't get little kids ammunition to make fun of your child. I really like Ruth, Scarlett and Melanie. Just be aware the the nickname for Scarlett is Scar...you may not like that very much. Nice choice on the names, though!

Alex: Is OK, but I like Alexa better. Alex is too unisex for my liking. I have a unisex name and I do not like it.


Scarlett: I like this name, it is one of my favourites, but I wouldn't bestow it upon my child.


Wendy: No. It just reminds me of Peter Pan, and those plastic houses for children. It's a bit prissy.


Melanie: I'm not sure, I don't mind the name, but the name doesn't give me an image of the kind of character a girl would have.

Felicity: It's a classic name, but I don't like it, if you were to go for a name like this I'd choose either Faith or Hope.
