Why are baby names so stupid sounding these days?

People have lost their minds naming their kids some weird crap. No one is considering that the CHILD is the one who has to walk around with these hideous names. Their resume' and let alone pronunciations are important. Consider the kid and stop being so selfish. What is your name and do you like it?

Why are baby names so stupid sounding these days?
You have hit the nail on the head.

The parents are not thinking about the child, nor much else by the appearance of names today.
Reply:I so totally agree with you. People really don't think before naming a child. Sorry to all the people with these names but I also think that names like Sophie, Chloe, Zoe are quite cute for babies and all but what happens when they grow up, the poor kid is stuck with a cutesy name and can't do anything with it, poor kid. Parents also have to be careful of a child's initials too because that can end in cruelty too. My name is Tanya and I don't mind it but I guess a lot of people don't actually like the name they are given but hey, I answer to it but I also get Tan which I don't mind.
Reply:I personnally absolutely hate my name but im still gonna name my kids w.e i want that people like it or not and i do think of what they would go through and i understand what you are saying but understand that you are a bit rude to mothers because they are all happy with what they chose and your putting them down only because you probably hate your own name. if you dont then change it and leave normal people alone. and btw you gurl named cherry. its actually a very pretty name stop remembering what they mean think about how the perosn looks and the name and how it goes together.
Reply:People these days are often strange and inconsiderate. ( In my opinion.) But I think that when you name your baby you should give it a beautiful name of your choice. I hear of some people just making up completely random names that are not "cute, dainty, beautiful or thoughtful." If you want to name your baby you should really conduct research to find a modern name of your liking.
Reply:My name is Megan and I like it. Yes it's been popular growing up, but I don't mind that too much. For my future children, I plan on giving them known names, but not overly-used ones. Like Jonah for ex. I love it for a little boy, It's not very common but it's a name that people know and one that is not seen as weird or hideous.
Reply:who deemed you judge of what names are "stupid"?

some names are spelled different than what you think is "normal", but the mother may think it's beautiful. I'm having twin girls soon, and i happen to think the name Bailee is beautiful and most likely one of my daughters will have that name. I dont care if insignificant people find it "stupid".

my name is MaLia. and it has a capital letter in the middle of it. that's different for ya. I happen to love my name, all through school i did too. I'd rather have a unique name than one you hear every day.
Reply:There's no such thing as a normal name. Much of it depends on where you live, your educational background and other socio-economic factors. Artists choose different names than accountants.

Remember that parents think they're choosing a great name. My mother has a long, ethnic name handed down through the family and hates it. She gave me a short, extremely common name - and I hate it, too. (I legally changed mine. To my mother's credit, she uses the new name - even if she doesn't understand.)

And last, fashions change. Mildred and Doris were once Top Ten names in the US.
Reply:My name is Ashlee and i have no problem with it

besides when i was in School there were always lots of Ashleys.. at least mine was spelt diffrently.

I think parents should name there kids whatever they want

even if its Pilot Inspektor.

they can always change it later in life.
Reply:My name is Clare, and my middle name is Megan. It's not a weird name, I think it's cute. I hate names like Kaylee, Riley, Bailey on girls. They're so cutesy and blaahhh. When the kids grow up they are going to hate not being taken seriously.
Reply:My real name is Cherry.... I don't really like it, reminds me of being a fruit to eat so someone could eat me, what also grosses me out about it, is that sometimes it increases some of my friends' appetites.. .. like wow

I wish mine was Claudia T_T
Reply:My name is Bryony, right? I HATE my name. I get called Brian. And my ndad is called Bran too! Why call a child a name that sounds like one for the opposite sex. You are right, Clare, people who call girls bailey are cruel.
Reply:well my name is dan and it is pretty good but you are Right people just want there kids to be out of the crowd. i know a person who's kid is named nevaeh or heaven backwards
Reply:My name is Jane, and I like it.

Some names are unique though and it's special

I like unique names, they just have to be easy to pronounce
Reply:I like most of the names I see or hear. I like them better than most of the old fashioned names. I like names that are unique or not as common as others.
Reply:I think it would be nice if people would name their kids like american indians did in the old times. You know like, clear water, running deer, etc. Kids seemed to be named for their personalities.
Reply:Because they aren't thinking of the child when the child is old enough to go to school and get teased because the name is one that will get them beat up!
Reply:I like some of the new, unique names, but some are really absurd. My name is Kelsey. I like it, but I know another Kelsey, too.
Reply:people want to be different..but its just making the kid look rediculous...

my names megan...i hate it.. it used to be popular when i was little..now its dying out.. and no one can ever spell it right!
Reply:my name is rachel and its an ok name but id rather be called alex or sam or somthing not so girly and the fact that it means "a female sheep!"i sorta hate it!
Reply:i don't know i guess people like unique sounding names..

my name is Camerin. %26amp; yes, i like it.
Reply:Totally agree with you.

I'm always like WTF were the parents thinking when I hear something like Mycheale. Why not save the kid some trouble and just name him Michael?
Reply:My name is Rachel and I love my name!
