For girls, I have Belladonna Rayne, Ivy Rayne, and Ivy Elora.
For a boy, the names Vaughn, Drake, and Rozio keep coming to mind, but I can't figure out middle names for them.
Please do not make fun of these names. My intent is to name my child a unique name because I grow weary of these common names. Oh, how many Hannahs and Sophias can I count in one preschool!
Thanks for everyone's input!
What do you think of these baby names and can you help me with a middle name?
A lot of my answer would have to do with how it flows with your last name.
Belladonna is a really nice name - it would allow your daughter to go by many different variations - i.e. Bella, Bell, Donna.
The boy name that most interest me (of the ones you listed) is Rozio - it's unusual but not too extreme and freakish.
Again - a middle name - would depend on the last name.
I did a quick search on "unusual boy names" and found a couple that I found interesting:
Devante
Emil
Imre
Naim
Orion (I'm a sucker for constellations!)
Vareck
Xan
Yeats
Reply:I ove Ivy Elora,it sounds so pretty...no need for a middle name.
Reply:Bella Rayne or Belle Rayne is the only change I'd make to your girl name ideas, as Belladonna is a mouthful! Your other girl names are great!
I like your boy names too! How about:
Vaughan Drake
Rozio Kaine
Good luck!
Reply:oooohhh! Drake is my favorite!!
Drake Vaughn (sounds like a soap star :)
I really like Ivy Rayne.
congrats
Reply:vaughn aaron? Drake patrick? Rozio alex?
Reply:I absolutely love Ivy Rayne (not sure if you are pronouncing Rayne as -rain or ranae- but i love the sound if it is as in ~rain~.
Reply:Hummm... I do like these names.... Iike the unique! Ivy Rayne is my fav then Belladonna.... I think that Rose might be a nice name to go with Belladonna .... Belladonna Rose! Maybe Devlin Vaughn or mix it up with Drake Vaughn that sounds nice. Good luck! I do love your choices!
Reply:I love Ivy Rayne, so pretty!@#

Why do people suggest baby names like this?
Why do people suggest that you don't name your child something, uncommon? They suggest that you name them something plain, overused, traditional, popular and overrated like Emily or Jacob? I'd rather have a child whose the only one in their class with the name Alexa than be one of five or six Kaitlyn's.
Why do people suggest baby names like this?
Something like Alexa is ok. What most people are talking about is exotic names. They may sound good on paper or poetic to the ear, but they fail to think about the kid having to live with that name and all the jokes and name calling that will happen at school.
Reply:They mean uncommon like a made-up name or something with crazy spelling, funny sounding or impossible to pronounce.
It's your opinion really. They just don't want the kid to be made fun of.
If you're talking about Alexa, that's fine. I have a longer name that was (and is) pretty uncommon, but it's not weird, just not used a lot. I felt a little out of place with all the Britneys and stuff as my name just sounds older, but I grew to love it and hate when people shorten it.
I would give a cute middle name too, in case the kid wants to use that.
Reply:Speaking as a Barbara who lost her first name in first grade, unique names are awfully overrated. Your teachers don't pronounce them correctly, they don't spell them correctly, and most of all, they tend to have mental prejudices against the uncommon.
In my class there was a Barbara, a Barb, a Barbie, a BJ, a Bobbi, and a Bobbie Jo..;..and that was just the girls. In the boys names we had a Robert, a Bob, a Bobby, and a Bobby Joe.
I was much happier having a name that was pronouncable, rather than unique. Unique doesn't always mean good.
Reply:I like less common names myself...
a lot of ppl want to avoid unusual names for fear that their child will be picked on, but I think ppl worry too much about this. I have an unusual name and my siblings have names more unusual than mine... and none of us have ever been teased for our names. Unless a name is goofy or something, most kids don't go around picking on ppl's names! A name that's uncommon or unique, or even foreign won't get a kid picked on, in my experience.
Reply:Alexa is pretty common, I thought?? My girls names are Shilah (pr. Shyla) and Mataia (pr. Mataya). My sons name is Ian James. They have yet to meet another kid with the same name. Their names are unique, but not too wierd. I like unique names, but unique spellings of common names are ridiculous. Who wants to spend their life always correcting someone who misspells it? (like Knicole for Nicole, pointless and annoying!!!)
Search foreign names and you can find interesting names. Mataia is a French name, originally spelled Mateja. A name may be common in a foriegn country, but you never hear it here. I believe a childs name is a big influence to who they are and who they will become. Think of that when you are searching. Good luck!!!
Reply:I have a very short name that is easy to pronounce. I was always the only girl in school with that name. However, it was always a bit irritating to never be able to find special things with my name on them (like pens and paper) Another problem with my name is that it is difficult for people in other countries to pronounce. I have lived on 3 continents, and am planning to move again soon. I will be going by Juana. Just easier for the Spanish to say it!
Reply:It is a personal choice, but I would think long and hard about naming a child an unusual name that will get them picked on when they go to school. They are the ones who suffer for that, not us.
Reply:It is all personal choice, if you ask for someones opinion on a website like this, well hunny you are going to get it. If you want to name your child something different then that is up to you, not everyone will like it.
Reply:i agree. i know my daughter will be the only kambria in her class. :) she's only 1 right now. but of course i get mixed reactions about her name. you can tell some people don't like it because it's unique.
Reply:Alexa is a beautiful name, much nicer than the name Kaitlyn. I agree with you about the over used names.
Reply:I agree! I don't really like common names!
Reply:its a matter of what you like.
if i really like a common name i would name my child that but id put another name with it.
ex. Belle is a very common name so id name her Jordin-Belle.
Reply:hell all the colored folks i have been around name their kids like 400 names all put together, what is the theory behind that
Reply:I hear ya! There can only be so many Brittney's in the world before it explodeds! LOL!
(No offense to anyone named Brittney!)
Reply:names are super common because lots of people like them....that would be why lots of people suggest them
Reply:Amen! I agree as long as the name isnt so weird the child is made fun of
Reply:I know what you mean. People can sometimes be to harsh when they don't like a name... I like unusual names myself but will not cut someone elses name down if it is common just because I don't like it.
Reply:I completely agree with you! i really dont like boring names. btw i love that name alexa.
Reply:Alexa is a common name ... and no one suggests common names just names that won't have your child running home in tears.
Reply:well i don't know but i really like the name Shauna lee
Reply:I agree I would like to be the only one with that name of Alexa or any other name.
Reply:its just personal choice

What do you think of these unusual baby names?
Ella Blue
Belladonna Harlow
Anastaisa Gertiude
Vivienne Claude
Veronica Marris
Bettina (Betsie) Lucy
So, these are the names I've picked out (gosh it's hard!!) Obviously I'm not really into popular names but I'd like to know what you think of them. You can mix them up or add suggestions. Thanks!
What do you think of these unusual baby names?
Vivienne is lovely as is Betsy , Claudette is nice.
Reply:I agree with Vivienne Harlow. Veronica Marris is a little too similar to Veronica Mars, I think.
Harlow is definitely the best of the middle names, in my opinion. Ella Harlow, perhaps?

Lucy and Marris are great, but I don't really like the middle names.
Bettina Lucy is nice
Belladonna Marris?
I really think you should use Belladonna. I would spell it with just one 'n' though.
Reply:Ella Blue or Anastaisa. You don't want to go too out there probably. I know you want to be unusual, but the truth is, kids are cruel. They'll probably tease her with a name like Gertiude and people will mispronounce it all the time. Ella is simple and beautiful :)
Reply:I like Anastaisa but not the middle name. Vivienne is also pretty but again dont care for the middle name choice.
Reply:Ella Blue-- It's cute.
Belladonna Harlow-- Not bad. I like Harlow.
Anastaisa Gertiude-- Not a fan.

Reply:Anastaisa Blue

Reply:I'm going to go with Ella and Marris as my fave. I like Blue too as a middle name though. Actually, they're all nice unique choices. Harlow is definately cute, but I like it as a first name. Check out this site www.ohboyorgirl.com/Baby_Names, there's plenty of unique names there and you can download a really cool baby name ebook to your cell phone for free.

What do you think of these potential baby names?
I really love Samuel (I'm not biased)
I'm not 100% sure how to pronounce Schven but if it's like I think it's pretty awesome
I'm not a fan of Eggmond or Eggburt,
nor Patricio,
Continkerfer,
Donalds
I like Edmond but not Edmont
I hate being called Sammy, so I wouldn't put it down as a full name, leave it as a nickname for Samuel
Not a fan of Manniroldo
I love Kelsey
